Alright, I'm just going to post to everyone since I've been getting so many
emails from many different places. This is what I've found out so far.
Representative Raplh Arza is the Rep sponsoring this bill. In talking with
one of his assistants, Carlos, I understand that they are getting quite a
bunch of calls and letters coming in in opposition of this bill. To me,
that's still not enough and I encourage every single one of us on these
boards to contact the Representative and voice your opinion.
Personally, I've left five messages this week with no return call. We've
emailed back and forth last week and over the weekend, but haven't heard
anything since. The last email I reveived was with his request to meet this
week and to call him. But, honestly every time I call, he's either not
there, or in a meeting, and so on. So, hey, maybe a bunch of us calling will
wake him up. Those of you who do contact his office though, my request is,
be professional, have good opinions of why you don't want this bill to go
through, and don't sound like a closet street racer. Hopefully, the Rep will
be back in touch with me sometime soon.
His asst. also stated when I inquired that this bill could go to the House
floor as early as tomorrow. So, time is of the essence. JD, from Dixie
Region, can I ask you a favor? Since you are local to Tallahassee, any way
to drop by in person? Rep Arza did state that he wanted to meet with us this
week. But since he has not got back in touch, maybe a personal visit could
be in order. Email me and let me know if you can.
This is all I have as far as info. I know its not much. I'm including the
contact email and phone number to Rep. Arza's office in Tallahassee. We get
louder with every call and email we make.
