Well, the time has come to make the tire decision for 2002 and I'm
leaning towards the Hoosiers. The Civic (~2200#) only has a 5" rim so I
can't run anything bigger than a 205. The car has no adjustability for
camber. The only Autocross compound I can use is the 205/55/14. The Road
Race compound is available in either 195/55/14 or 205/55/14. I've always
run Kumho's in the past for financial reasons, but this year that's not
as much of a concern as getting the fastest tire. I don't know much about
the new Kumho but the Hoosier has the track record the past few years.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note, is it physically possible to mount Hoosiers with a manual
tire changer like Harbor Freight sells? I'm guessing not, but figured it
was worth checking. Thanks!
