Larry (& Company)-
Yes, Audi is quite impressive in their second year of dominating the event.
I was quietly pulling for Bentley, in their first return aftet last
competing (and WINNING) in 1930. (None of us except maybe Phil Ethier were
even around then!) However, I can only fly the Union Jack at half-mast
since the Rolls-Royce/Bently -vs-Volkswagen -vs- BMW split a few years
ago... Oh, well, even if Bentley actually belongs to Vee-Dub now, it was
still a "jolly good show" by the grand old marque. I believe another VW
powered car, a Reynard chassis, won the LM-675 class or whatever they call
the class below the class the "big dogs" run in. I get 'em all confused,
but I think that was the class that the MG/Lola entry was in. I was not so
quietly hoping they'd do better. (Dropped out during the night, sometime.
Sigh.) Again, a good show for a long-time absent marque, and my obvious
favorite.
All in all, a good year to be a German car fanatic. Now if Ford would just
decide that JAGUAR needs to stage a big comeback at LeMans....
