But it's not "personnel aside", is it?

If all the important people from the Office went and were happy to
go, and the Solo II Nationals stayed between the Rockies and
a little west of the Mississippi (more or less) until I'm at least 60,
my personal concerns would be eased a lot. Any bets? Can
you say "Pollyanna"?

It might be fine for you, Mark, if the Nationals and Runoffs were in
Alabama for good, but what about the western half of the country?
And how many western Club administrators are eagerly looking
forward to flying to the convention via Atlanta instead of Denver?
Heck, I'd rather go to Dallas.

I didn't say y'all were in on something. It sounds like your Director
asked if he could "encourage" one or more CVB's from down there
to make offers. Maybe he's just more energetic than other
Directors. Maybe he thinks he'd get a job replacing someone who
would leave :-) I just wonder where the other guys are... and why the
guy from Area 8 thinks it's a done deal before the members or
Directors even get a chance at it, to wit:

>B.T.W. Where is the bid from the Seattle/Tacoma CVB???

They're not looking for offers, remember? They're just collecting
data on the ones they "happen to" have. Plus I'd bet our Director
doesn't think it would be likely that all the provincial east-coasters
would want or should have to haul (or fly) all the way out here.

Hey, it's a nice building. Very near where I work, very handy :-)
Beautiful atrium, nice offices with lovely views. Nearby restaurants
aren't too great, but the executive cafeteria is excellent. Nearby
airport. Two of them, actually.

Chicago's bribes were way bigger than Denver's. But I hear the state
legislature is already reducing them after the fact. "Political
integrity"
is an oxymoron, after all.

>Hey, and I believe Boeing will be leaving behind a private airport runway
>that could be used for the SCCA Corporate Jet/Club Racing Run-Offs/Solo II
>Nationals...

I dunno, it didn't stand up too well to the earthquake. Big cracks.
Might not hold up under the thundering herd of C Prepared.
;->

If people have a question or opinion on this, they should contact their
Director. And/or the National Office, specifically Steve. The
necessary contact info is available via www.scca.org
If you don't express an opinion, don't come back and gripe when the
decision is made and maybe you find you don't like the consequences.
