Frankly, that's bull.

I don't want to speak for Howard, but I'm confident that it's not
that he's anti-Porsche.  Rather, he is (legitimately) concerned
about the *perception* of having cars designed as sports cars in a
class with mundane sedans.

It's all about perception -- and rightly so, IMHO.
