Your tire guy is going to hate trying to mount 225 Hoosiers on the 14x6
rim.
Apparently the following was on a Miata forum...
Heard back from Kumho regarding the new V700. They will
still market
the Victoracer with this new tire which is a different
compound.
Here's the quote form the post. Hope this answers your
questions.
"Folks I just got a response back from Kumho Tech on the
New V700
they will be introducing shortly. Below are the
questions I posted
with their response thereafter.
1. Are they(NEW Tires) being designed primarily for Road
Racing,
or Autocrossing?
The next generation V700 will be used for both road
racing and
autocrossing.
2. What are the initial tire sizes being considered?
175/60-13, 215/50-13, 235/45-13
185/55-14, 195/55-14, 225/50-14
205/50-15, 225/45-15, 225/50-15
205/45-16, 225/50-16
205/40-17, 225/45-17, 235/40-17, 275/40-17, 335/35-17
225/40-18, 265/35-18, 285/30-18
3. Will the V700 VICTORACER thus be discontinued or will
both
tires be manufactured together?
The Victoracer will also be offered with the next
generation V700.
4. Did the manufacturing problems from earlier this
year, with the
V700, get resolved?
Yes. Supply should not be an issue. Although with BFG
dropping
production of the
gForce, it will be difficult to predict the market.
5. What is the time frame for delivery of these new
tires to
distributors such as Tire Rack?
Spring of 2001.
6. What are the considered traits of these new tires
compared to
the V700, Hoosiers, and the BFG g-Force R1? Where do
they sit
in this performance envelope?
Compared to the current V700, performance goals are to
improve
overall grip without sacrificing tread life. Price point
will be equal to the V700
Victoracer.
Hope that helps,
Jeff
