Tom,
As the satellite worker at turn 1, it was my observation that all
cars/vehicles being the same the starter used a point on the track (when they
started the left hand toward the lane change) to let the next car go. When the
cars were of different class, he delayed the start of the following car until
he felt the overlap was sufficient. I was paying close attention since the car
already on course was headed directly at my position and I made it a point not
to turn and watch the next car out until the car had successfully started the
turn. That did give me a great observation point for the rollover. With the
AM and F125 folks the time delay had to be quicker than what they did the EP
cars. The thing that I noticed about the EP cars was the huge disparity in on
course speed between a couple of the cars. Something like the difference
between you and me (you being fast and me not so fast) ;-)
