If you put large bars on the rear of fwd cars you will pick
upt the inside rear wheel more, probably decreaseing your ultimate lateral
grip.
============================
Yes but, that's not a big problem. The inside rear tire is alrady
completely off of the ground around all of the corners. What it will allow
(at least us Neon pilots) to do is put the larger factory front bar (22mm)
back on. All we were trying to do by going to the softer front bar (20mm)
was to increase the grip of the front tires. A stiffer rear bar would
accomplish the same results plus reducing overall body roll and making
transient respnsive handling that much better. In theory any way.

Mr. Selfish? ha.
===========================
Just a joke. I personally have already written a letter asking for a
rewrite of the front sway bar allowance. Paraphrased it went a little like
this: "Allow driver to change/add/remove either the front or rear sway bar,
but not both." At least that way you RWD guys can keep your fat front bars.

If your going to change the rules (ie classings) do that first. dont change
too much all at once.
===========================
Agreed. But this dubious "front bar only" allowance is from an era of
mostly RWD cars and does not reflect well upon the current field which
boasts an enormous number of FWD cars.

And, on a lot of front wheel drive cars, a bigger front bar can actually
help handling by decreasing camber/toe changes, not to mention keeping all 4
wheels on the ground (4 tires on the ground is better than 3 in the handling
department isnt it?).
============================
The reason that the Neons go to a softer front bar is to reduce the amount
of inside wheel spin due to the stiff factory front bar (22mm) trying to
lift the inside tire off of the ground. So, we change to the skinnier
(20mm) factory front bar. A fatter rear bar with the original 22mm front
bar would be better yet and would offer some manner of parity to the rules
which already allows you RWD guys an advantage.

And if most the cars in your class are front wheel drive, how is it unfair
to have the existing rule for your class?
============================
It's not, in our class. But across the board it's a rule that's biased
towards RWD cars and that's not fair. There, you made me use the "F" word.
Are you happy now?  ;^)
