Good points
I too doubt that Grissom could support two Full Length courses, when we have
the space that Grissom has it would be a shame to be running 40 sec courses.
Other than Grissom I don't think anywhere in CenDiv has sites that could
support two full length courses, the old Columbus airport might have been
able to but it is NA now.
More events would be a problem for local regions, our region likes to have a
regional monthly Feb - Oct, but we also try to avoid the BFG events (8 per
year), Divisional, National Tour and the events from other local regions.
This usually leaves one weekend per month where we can have our event. We
have members who come to all the regional events but do not go to any BFG,
NT or Divisional (don't ask me why), the local regions need to provide
events for these members.
The only way additional NT events would work would be if they were on the
same weekend in different areas say Peru and Knoxville, this would cut down
on entry but I don't see how National staff would handle.

Subject: Running two courses at Peru
The trouble with running two courses simultaneously (beyond the already
mentioned resource issue), is the fact that most sites simply cannot support
two full-length (50-70 second) Solo II courses.
Peru is a good example of this. While you might conceivably be able to
design a pair of courses at this site, it would leave you little room for
grids, there would be no good way to get people on and off the "south"
course, and the existing paddock would not be big enough for 400 cars (and
support vehicles). I have my concerns about the paddock holding the 300+
cars (plus trailers and RVs) scheduled for the upcoming tour.
I like the idea of running two courses, and I'm sure there are sites that
can support this, but I don't believe that Peru is one of them.
I also like the idea of adding events to the schedule, but here's another
thought: how will that affect small local events?
Respectfully,
William Loring
