No offense meant, but if we're talking about a protest at the national
level, no proof is necessary.  The rulebook doesn't say that you can
change your shift knob, so you can't.

Yes.  The owner's manual says "here's how to remove the sunroof panel;
stow it in the trunk" (or whatever).  The owner's manual doesn't say
anything about driving the car without visors.  It is not a "normal"
configuration for the car.

And you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but it really upsets me
when people feel that following the rules and asking for those rules to
be enforced makes one an asshole/idiot/weenie.

Once again, to clarify, I'm talking about at the national level.  I
certainly don't encourage such strict interpretation of the rules at a
regional level.
