I had to respond,
The Tire Rack is the greatest thing ever, I buy ALL of my tires through
them, when I got the 245/60/15 Dunlop GT Qualifers for my wagon they were a
mere $55 each, the place that mounts my tires is a Dunlop dealer and the
owner told me that thier price on them is more than that, I do wish Dunlop
made an R compound tire 'cause I'd sure buy them but I'll probably go with
Kumhos, I've had a car on Kumho street tires since before most people ever
knew they existed, I run 215/75/14 Kumho white walls on my '68 Skylark show
car, some of the best skins I've had.
Now for some bashing, it always amazed me that BFG had such a great tire in
the old Comp TA R1 since prior to that all of my personal experiances with
thier street tires(TA Radial, Touring TA and Euro TA) left me with the
impression that they were incapable of producing a round tire, they all
seemed to be kind of oval as well as prone to cord seperation, I do know that
thier tires have gotten much better since thier joining with Michelin,
however they are now priced way too high(IMO)and I feel that you just arn't
getting what you are paying for. I'm a very loyal customer and it takes
something dramatic for me to change brands but as always money is always an
issue, if I feel I'm not getting what I pay for you can bet I'll be shopping
a with another company when replacement time comes. Companies like Tire Rack,
Racer Wholesale and a bunch of others that you've probably never heard of(T/A
performance, Torque Technologies, Cars inc.and some others,I do other car
stuff as well) have treated me so well that I don't ever see my devotation to
them going away.
I'm also sure that the sponsors take posts with a grain of salt knowing
that more complaints tend to get posted and that at times this list tends to
become more of a gripe-fest than anything else, most companies know that if
you treat one guy well he might tell 10 people, but if you piss one off he'll
tell 50, it's just human nature.
I've taken this year off to play with my wagon, can only throw money at one
toy at a time, 377 HP 5200 LBS 13's in the 1/4 mile in full street trim and I
drive it every day as well as tow a car trailer with it!
