How about this,

        In 1995 when we bought a Suburban new, I asked them " State Farm" 
what the differance was between the gas and diesel motor. They said that it 
would be $1000.00 a year for the gas and $1300.00 for the diesel!!!!!!!! I 
said are sure about that? And they said yes, because the diesel was Turbo 
charged and ALL turbo charged vehicles recieved a 30% high performance surge 
charge!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Don't know if thats still true today
