Boxsters have never had LSD available, and as of model year 2000 neither the
996 nor Boxster S will have a LSD option. ABD in conjunction with a LSD
works quite well on the 996, but is more abrupt and disruptive in the
Boxster with no LSD. With the limited power of the Boxster the ABD typically
doesn't really do much in the dry on R compound tires except in 1st gear. I
would imagine that the Boxster S will have more of a problem.
7.5"x18" and 9"x18" are not new to the Boxster S. They were an option on the
1999 Boxster.
