It's worth pointing out (in the defense of my newbies from this weekend) that
once it all got explained to them, all the newbies who were there worked
willingly and are planning on coming back again.
This particular discussion isn't a "this is broken, let's fix it" discussion,
but instead a "could we make this better?" discussion.
I certainly wouldn't want anyone sterotyping newbies as slackers or anything...
It seems to me though that if we can find a way to let people opt out of working
without screwing anyone, and perhaps providing a service to some (other than
those opting out. :) that that's a Good Thing.
You know, I'd bet that a sizable portion of newbies would opt to work LONGER, if
it meant free entry...
