My friend Dennis Grant said the following about my car:
>Incidentally, identifying slugs is just as difficult as identifying overdogs.
One
>might be tempted, based on this year's ESP results, to label the '99 Mustang
>Cobra IRS car a slug - until you find out that the only car so entered wasn't
>prepared to anything near the limit of the rules. (It was basically an F Stock
>car with big tires) Thus, this car has a reasonable chance to become
competitive
>in the future.
And to expand on that, the car is factory-stock except for the 17x10 wheels.
BTW, if you count the car (purchased new), insurance, parts (consisting of 17x10
wheels, ARP wheel studs, and 20 open lugnuts), tires ($742 for 4 275/40R17
g-Force R1s), taxes, title, tag, and the tow rig, I've got $49,968.48 in the car
to date. So I guess I have one of those $50K ESP cars you all were talking
about. Discount the tow rig and it's $29,968.48.
