Review these notes before coming to the NOPI Nationals event. You may
want to look at the course map at http:www.atl-scca.org to see some of
the things addressed.

NOPI Drivers' Meeting Notes

· Team Solo - Thanks to Tom Simon for developing the setback spreadsheet
and generally assisting on getting this event off the ground. Paul Barros
for keeping the Registration process clean and easy.

· Everyone is required to work or will be Disqualified. Some will be
asked to work the Finale instead of during your regular group.

· Double Elimination Tournament
· Each driver gets minimum of 2 competitive runs (only if you lose both
first rounds)
· First car to its own finish line wins UNLESS one of these things
happens:
· Jumps the start
· DNFs
· Passes the other car
· Whichever car has least cones wins
· Match is a dead heat and judges can't agree who wins. Then we'll rerun
the match.

· Staging procedure:
· Faster classed car will be setback
· Numbered cones designate 10 foot increments
· You will be given a sticky note with the setback distance if your car
will be setback. Give that note to the stager of your lane. He will stage
you accordingly.
· Lane assignments - Cars listed on top of matches are in the left lane,
bottom car is in the right lane.
· After your match check the bracket to see who you are matched up
against for the next run.

· Start Procedure
· Your match will not start UNTIL the previous cars clear the course.
· Your stager will ask if you are ready. Wave your hand in clear view of
the stager. Your stager will signal the starter you are ready.
· Watch for the green light to start your match

· Finish Procedure
· Left lane drivers will cross your own finish line ONLY ONCE!
· Right lane drivers will cross your own finish line TWICE. Once right
after the start and again at the end of the match.
· After the finish, Left lane drivers must look for a signal from the
finish course worker giving permission to turn left across the other
lane. Stop until he signals you to continue.
· After the finish, Right lane drivers may take a right turn onto the
exit lane back to the grid area.

· Course Designer - Ben Thatcher

· Solo Safety Stewards - Rick Tinsley, Mike Schoop, Brett Howell, Dan
McMahan
