I somewhat agree with moving the 1gen RX7s to D stock as an alternative fix for
C stock. That way I can get my butt kicked by ACRs instead of 2gen MR2s. The
proper fix would be to put the 924S and the 2gen MR2s into B stock so they
could play with the 1.8 Miatas.My $.02

Where oh where to put the Type R with 195hp, 2300#, FWD,
*Posi*, 15" rims, Street Prepared suspension and engine........?
G Stock...195-205hp Eclipse clones w/4wd, 200hp rwd Firebirds with massive
rubber
and posi
D Stock....basically Neons FWD with 150hp and no posi, and some suspension
OR
C Stock.....MR-2, 924, older Miata, early RX-7
OR
B Stock....newer Miatas with ?140hp, posi, rwd, 15" rims, front/mid engine
(set back in frame)
OR
A Stock....MR-2 turbos with 200hp, mid engine and Porsche turbos with XX?hp
(mid engine does not have or need posi, Porsches have it).
FLASH! How about leaving it and the others there, and just have those cars
redefine G Stock?
Let them slug it our for who's the best. Why screw up other existing classes?
Other less competitve
cars could slowly be phased into C Stock, D Stock, and other related classes.
FLASH 2 - My other great idea of the day - move the early first generation
RX-7's
(including the 84-85 GSL-SE) to D Stock to give Neons something to think about.
I do firmly believe that this would be a competitive situation and give new life
to both the class and the RX-7's which are plentiful and reasonably priced. If
you're
feeling really frisky the early MR-2's could be moved to D Stock also for more
flavor :-)
Pete Chilberg and I locally (Phoenix) had quite the battles, he in his early
MR-2
and I in my 85 GSL-SE, usually with less than .2 sec. between us.
These are not off the cuff suggestions - what'cha think gang?
