Unfortunately everyone takes a different spin on this
topic. Being the only one to show up at Nationals
is far different than the person who shows up every
month in a regional event and runs consistently the
same class alone and racks up trophies year after year.
This is especially true of the Mod or Prepared cars
which may not be popular in a given Region.
Some take offense at what I have said (maybe you
included) but the point is not whether single class
trophies are correct or not. The point is that we
tend to be ballastic about what "competition" is
in some cases and then liberal or "fun" oriented
in others. The net result in my mind is that what
we tolerate seems to have more to do with what does
or does not affect our position than about whether
it makes sense for all concerns.
I'm just testing the resolve of those who have
mixed standards....:-)
