Congrats. I was with you all the way.
Remember the responsibilities of the position. Post a description of an
item that will identify you to all netters. Mine was the now-legendary
Sequel River Rhat. Remember that about 20% of Nationals will be netters.
Introduce yourself to everyone you meet. Sure, you will get a lot of blank
looks from non-netters, but the response will sometimes be unbelievable.
Remember that you represent not just TEAM.NET, but local autocrossers
everywhere, the folks that are the backbone of this sport, both inside and
outside of the SCCA.
After Nationals, post the story of your trip. If you want to make
videotapes like I did, and circulate them to contributors, that would be
cool. I'd certainly look forward to having one go through here.
Of course you are now on the hook to oversee DTN2000!
Congrats again. I hope it becomes the great experience for you that it was
for me.
I say again to TEAM.NET: You folks are the greatest. Your support of local
autocrossers through the exchange of information is invaluable. The DTN
program, which grew out of a nutbar idea by Matt Murray, has been wonderful.
