Redline's injector cleaner is good preventive maintenence, and a buddy of
mine who was a Cummins diesel engineer actually ran some studies on the
teflon oil additives (slick50 etc.) and they do work, but effectiveness
will diminish with mileage, requiring a new treatment. The gains are
small, probably around 1%, and similar to what you would see just switching
to all synthetic oils where you can.
That provides the biggest measurable gain - usually dyno proven to be worth
2-3% power. I use them (redline) in my AWD car, with as much driveline
that has to be turned, in the tranny, transfer case, and rear end. Call
redline to ask what they would reccomend. They even have 0wt race oils for
qualifying, no additives, no detergents, change them after the event!
