Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry regarding tire storage. In
summary, during the season it seems OK to store the tire upright while
on the rim and pressurized. If dismounted or during the offseason, the
favorite technique was to lay them down on the shoulders to minimize the
possibility of a.... flat spot, if you will.
As for the recommendation to not store the tires near an electric motor,
several people responded that the motor, and any electrical source which
has the possibility of arcing, will produce ozone, which can cause the
rubber to degrade &/or crack.
Thanks to all, again. What a great list.... <sniff sniff>.
