BTDT, myself and 4 friends raced mini-sprints in high school. It took
every penny we could beg, borrow or steal to keep it running. No, we
never won and rarely ever actually finished a race due to either
mechanical problems or more commonly, rollovers. ;^)

Wal-Mart's cool. They've got good prices on spark plugs and oil. Not
to mention good beer, cheap. ;^)
The cheap entry fees and relative inexpensiveness of autocrossing, and
to a point club (road) racing, are one of the main attractions of the
SCCA. It's these qualities that make it possible for spectators to be
able to participate instead of just sitting in the grandstands and
watching someone else drive a half-million dollar car and wreck it every
other week.
THAT is what makes SCCA the best racing organization in the world.
IMHO.
See you on course.

You jump in front of my car When you know all the time
That 90 miles an hour Girl Is the speed I drive
You tell me it's all right You don't mind a little pain
You say you just want me to take you for a drive
