Let's first state that ST is NOT Street Tire! Yes, the ST1 class is for
street tires only but lets not confuse the two. STR and STU allow R
compound tires. Second, the rules state on page 250, Appendix K of the
1999 Solo Rule Book under Vehicle Eligibility:
All sedans/coupes (four seats, four factory belts, non sports car based),
maximum displacement of 3.1l, normally asperated.
No turbos or superchargers allowed.
Yes, the non-sports car based wording gets a little gray, but if you have a
car that you think is a killer, ask Howard. Preludes are not sports car
based. M3's are not sports car based (they are illegal for other reasons).
