Stock neon offset is 40mm. Old AR-24 offset is 35mm, which falls within the
+/- 0.25in allowance. New AR-24 offset is 33mm. Allowance is 6.35mm, the
new AR-24's difference from stock is 7mm. That makes them illegal in Stock
by 0.65mm or 1/391in or 0.00256in.
I'm not happy that AR made the change. Now, if I buy new ones, I'd be
exposed to risks I didn't have before. I'd either have to find a trustworthy
machine shop and pay $$$ for a miniscule mod, or chance that someone would
have the audacity to claim that they can measure 1/391 inch of offset. Thank
God I'm the founding father of Team DFL, and as long as I stay a member in
good standing, I enjoy a limited form of immunity from protest!
