Lauri:

As I recall, most clutches were made by Borg and Beck, and had parts
that interchanged with MG clutches by the same mfgr.
Below is some info that may help. If you need more specific info, let me
know, as there is more in my archive, but I didn't have time to look at
all.

Jon,
The larger (8") clutch plate & flywheel is what was used on the
series 3, 1600cc engine. The 7.5" & smaller/lighter flywheel is from a
1725 series V. both will work okay except there may be a problem of
different clutch release bearing assemblies. Question, could you measure
the diameter of the carbon bearing? To use the 7.5 clutch, one needs a
"tall" pedestal and "small" carbon bearing. For the series 3 clutch, one
needs the "tall" pedestal and "large" carbon bearing (2.5"dia). I have
chopped flywheels for both 1600 (less 4.5 lbs, same weight as the Lemans
flywheel)& 1725 (less 3 lbs) and they come with new ring gears is needed.
