I have a copy of a document titled "Alpine: The Classic Sunbeam"  which
itentifies the car :
Commencing with chassis number B9100001 thru B9119956 = Series 2, Oct '60-Feb
63. Total build  19,056.
OD = over drive.
L = low compresion.
R =Roadster.
X = Non-standard.

The SB & 53 remain a mystery, at least to me.
