Yes, but I am told that there is a problem because the ring gear teeth are
chamfored (spelling??) for a rear engagement.  However, I replaced one of the
pre-engaged type starters with an old style starter on a Cricket (because of
cost) and ran with no problems for several years.

The Lucas starter used in Sunbeam Arrows/'69 Alpins and thge Plymouth
Cricket
all are front engaged, pre-engaged starters.  Thar shoudl solve the
problem
and Cricket starters are surprisingly easy to find.

Besides being large, the Lucas units eat the teeth off the flywheel
