Deja vu,

This has been done before...

I was invited to a dyno test about 8 years ago by the former
director of engineering at Kawasaki USA, who had taken 2 4 cyl
400cc engines, and a custom crankshaft and made a very nice production
worthy 800cc V8.

The engine management system was having problems (not mine) and the
engine power fell off abruptly at 10000 RPM, where it was making a very
respectable 180BHP. With the right setup the engine would have made an
easy 250BHP, using off the shelf engine components.

There was mo marketablility in the engine program, so Kawasaki pulled
the plug on the project, allthough the engineering director finished
development on his own dime.
He now keeps the engine on display in his house.
