Door seals

Hi,
have just fitted the inner door seals to the "c" channel on my Series V and
even with the door strikers adjusted to their outermost position I really have
to slam the door to shut it and it sits proud of the rear panel.Has anyone
else had this problem. I don't have the originals seals to compare but the new
ones were obtained from an Alpine source here in the uk.
