I finally got the wires all hooked up, got up to speed in 4th gear, hit the
switch and.... nothing. Used a multimeter on the wire that supplies the
relay, and nothing. Looked under the dash to find the power line from the
fuse is mangled. The DPO probably cut it up to install a Kraco. Back to the
drawing board.
My series 5 trans was a tight fit. I suspected that the engine had to go
forward. Brent Kasl told me to slide it forward, and that provided enough
clearnace. I doubt it would have went in without this step. Next time I will
try taking it out without moving the engine mounts. Lou
