Valve Guides

I removed the head from the Alpine in attempts to correct leaky oil
causing brief smoke when shifting and start up. Most owners believe I
should start with worn valve guides. The machine shop recommended
inserting teflon seals in the guides to correct the problem. Has anybody
tried this? He showed me what they look like and it makes sense
operationally but did not know the success rate. Thanks Brent
