Has the gearbox been out of the car? If so is the slave on the correct
side (ie front/rear) of the bell housing flange?

Or, has the clutch throwout bearing been changed. I changed to a roller
bearing, that needed a later model bearing fork to use with my pedestal
mounting point. If the correct combination of parts wasn't fitted, the
clutch wouldn't disengage.
