Horn Problem

The horn ring and assembly is a fairly simple device when working for a
S5. However, after assembly, ours seems to stay on. I backed off the
distance between the contact plate thinking when bolted down with the
three screws it was binding but this has not helped and the gap now is
really too large. When manually pushing the horn ring not bolted to the
steering column, and touching for a complete contact. the horn will work
each push, but once bolting in, on all the time. Any ideas? Thanks Brent
