I finished up some needed repairs on my Harrington Lemans today. I
completed a full rebuild on the rear axle assembly (junked the old 4.22)
and replaced the twin Zeniths with a single 32/36 Weber. It seemed like
the weber took some HP away from the Lemans 1600, but it seems to rev
better and idle smoother. The Lemans was running so well that I got
pulled over by a local-yokel for going 50 in a 35 zone here in Kettering
Ohio. Do you believe that? I told him that I just replaced the carb with
a weber and was testing how well it would run. I, unfortunately, had a
set of bogus Minnesota "Collector" plates on, but the car was registered
in Ohio. Anyway, he must like Sunbeams because he gave me a warning and
no ticket. Thank the Sunbeam gods!!!
