I think you had too much beer.  I have not heard of any cars having 2 speed
rears since the 30's, when the Columbia 2 speed was used on some of the more
expensive cars.  I am probably wrong.  Maybe too much beer, and you don't
remember?

I thought I remember an economy car like a Fiesta, Capri, or Opel having a
2-speed rearend during the height of the gas crisis. Maybe I had too much
beer that day ;-)
