Jump starting positive ground/earth cars

With radiator problem sorted, I plan to start the S3 this weekend, for
the first time in some years.  I have fitted a new battery which is
fully charged, so cranking it over shouldn't be a problem, but one never
knows.......

Question is, if it needs an electrical boost, can I connect to a vehicle
that has negative earth and an alternator?  (S3 still has + earth and
genny).  I'm sure I've done it before but just wanted to check....
