Well six days before I leave for the invasion and the car is in
parts...toasted the transmission last weekend on the way back from the
micro car show. [remember to check the oil in things that leak] The
warmed over 1725 has been in and back out, wrong clutch release arm. I
am using an early fly wheel, lightened, a volvo disc and a MGB pressure
plate which looks like it will require a early release arm and a late
pivot block. Oh and I found out what happens when you put the slave
cylinder on the wrong side of the bell housing.. So thanks to Eric G. I
have the release arm I need, now if the parts car transmission is good
and the rebuilt engine is OK and I get it all put back in this weekend
that will give me a couple of days to shake out any bugs. Then drive 600
miles to Ohio, if all goes well I will be the guy re-torquing my
head...did I mention the wire wheel conversion and new bearings and ring
gear bolts in the rear end, guess the webers will have to wait. Jim SV
