On factory replacement engines there was a special suffix leter, what was it?

I gather some Iranian Paykan 1725's came into the US some years ago, what
serial numbers did they have???

Jim,

If no numbers worries you, get hold of a set of stamps and stamp on the
number
from your cowl plate. Before you do this, however, check the block casting
date to verify that the block was made in the right time period. Since the
1725 block was basically unchanged through the next generation of
Sunbeams...fastback mini Barracudas....these factory short blocks were made
and were available from 1966 through at least 1969.

One minor terminological correction to my last post regarding factory
replacement engine plates. Mine was not secured with machine screws, but with
very tiny hex head bolts (1/4" socket).
