There is no resistor, Lucas coils are straight 12 volt.  I would replace the
coil after checking with a volt meter that there is actually 12 volts coming
to the coil.

switch to the coil but their should be a resistor somewhere in that line.  If

the resistor is bad, that could cause the full 12v not getting to the coil to

produce a strong blue spark.  I cannot find it.  Any ideas?  It's not a 
complex system but it sure is aggravating when she will not start.
