Yes, did that, well sort of, it's a 35 amp late gauge for negative ground.
Actually, it was all running fine before I went to put the headers on and
had to swap to a new smaller alternator to fit.  That was all I changed.
Then the ammeter (again, nothing else changed) started reading 15 amps a
little after initial start up, and never would go below that.

When I put on the lights, it goes up to about 25 amps and stays there.  Is
that right?  I mean, shouldn't the alternator and voltage regulator
compensate and bring it back down too?
