Electronic Rust Prevention

Is there any benefit in fitting one of these electronic marvels to a 40 year
old sports car? Can it stop or prevent spreading of the dreaded corrosion? I
am at present removing a thick rust preventitive that was sprayed over every
underneath part of my 5GT. It is a bit of a bugger to remove and fix the
corrosion underneath and I would like some confirmation that new 21 century
preventitives work.
