I hope it is not too much to ask but I need some advise on getting an
overdrive unit mounted on a tranny. I've read the manual and I do not want
too force things. I've got the two sets of splines in the OD aligned and
the cam on the tranny is at the lowest spot to allow the oil pump guide to
go up onto the chamfered edge. I can slide it on to within @ 1/2 ". I am
assuming that the pump roller is not going up on the cam. Can the pump be
removed and then reinstalled after the OD is installed? that is not
addressed in the manual but off the top of my head it seams to make
sense. That seems too easy, so I figure there is a reason not too do that.
Any help from those of you that have done this would be appreciated before I
do any damage.
