Its always scary to mess with the hood latch given the potential consequenc=
es.
Thanks to those who chimed in.=C2=A0 I noticed that the pin was not landing=
squarely in the hole so I used a screwdriver to turn it 45 degrees and now=
the hood pops open just like it should.

If you can turn the pin with a screwdriver it is likely to move again.? Th=
ere is a jam nut inside the spring.? Work a 1/2 inch open-end wrench betwee=
n the spring coils and snug it up to make sure it stays where you want it.
