It is better to remove the trans cover. This way the drive shaft will come =
out easier. Trying from underneath the exhaust would have to be removed and=
you would still have a problem with the driveshaft.

Posted this to 6 pack but only one reply and that was inconclusive.
So:
Can the rear seal of the standard transmission be replaced from=20
underneath the car? Or does the transmission cover have to be removed=20
and accessed from inside the car.
