I was very saddened to hear of Fred Thomas' passing. I, too, benefited
greatly from his advice on power coating, having PC'd a number of small
parts on my TR6 under his tutelage. He volunteered information and
documentation, sending me a big manila envelope full of pictures and
instructions, all gratis. I never met him, but his responses to my queries
told me a lot about his generosity. He will be missed, indeed.

Only met Fred through emails of help, suggestions and guidance. I knew him
as
someone who would always be there with a quick answer to "my" pressing need
when working on either of my Triumphs. He always seemed to sense my urgency
to
get an answer and was always there with a brief snippet of advice that made
me
realize was was on the wrong track to a solution. Quite a gentlemen and
always
a friend whether he new you personal or through the list. He will be truly
missed by this guy! What a loss!!!!
