[6pack] Speedo cable lubricant

I've got a bouncy speedo and have been reading through the archives.
One of the steps I know I need to take is lubricanting my speedo
cable.  What is the list's suggestions when it comes to lubricant (of
the automotive variety, not personal)?  Lithium grease?  Graphite?
