[6pack] overdrive transmission question

OK.  i am sure i am the only one who does not know this, so my apologies.

i have a 72 tr6, with an overdrive tranny that was added (not original).  it
works in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

i've been to the quantum mechanics site, and the two pictures look very
similar to me.

is there any way to tell if it is a j or a type overdrive?
