James, May I suggest that something is not quite right with your car or top? My factory hardtop takes about 10 minutes to put on (or to take off, for that matter). What I have learned is the key is to not tighten ANY bolts until all 6 have been started. Then, I tighten the windscreen bolts, then the rear deck, and the door post bolts last.
