[6pack] MSD CDI ignition box

Has any of you had experience with these devices?? My car already
has?a Pertronix ignition to replace the breaker points.? My mechanic
feels that an MSD box is one element in improving the performance of a
modified motor and that it tends to reduce spark plug fouling by
providing a stronger spark (or multiple sparks) to promote better
combustion.? Any downside to the device?

Thoughts?
