[6pack] A Type overdrive

I recently drained the gearbox and then removed and cleaned the sump filter
and replaced the sealing washer for the drain plug.  I can't seem to stop a
new drip from the drain plug so I intend on replacing the sealing washer
again.  Three questions:  Can I remove the drain plug on the overdrive without
draining the gearbox?  How much gear lube can I expect to drain out? Can
teflon tape be used on the threads of the drain plug?
